REVIEW // Tom Ford Nude Vanille Lipstick

adore a nude lip but funnily enough, don’t own many nude lipsticks at all. I have a dozen pinks, fuchsias and reds but finding that perfect beige is a struggle. Bad nudes can make you look sick and dirty (eek!) but the good ones can create a gorgeous, sophisticated and chic look; just enough ‘woke up like this’ with a side of ready to take over the world…

Tom Ford’s Nude Vanille is most certainly the latter. The packaging itself is pure luxury; heavy and glossy black with gold accents. The pink/nude colour is perfect for day-to-night transitioning without running the risk of looking ghostly, while the creamy, moisturising formula means no flakey lips (yippee!). Just one swipe gives a pigmented, opaque finish but I’ll often do a second layer to even out the coverage.

Nars Striptease has been my go-to nude gloss for years and I think Nude Vanille may just take over as my favourite nude lipstick. The gold cap even doubles as a little mirror should you be in need – grazie, Mr. Ford!

Rating…
Packaging: 10/10
Prod: 9/10 (I’m a gloss girl at heart so a slightly more shiny finish would be perfection. Also, it retails for a steep $70 AUD (here) so we’re allowed to be fussy!)
Recommended? Yes. Expensive, but it’s a beautiful colour and just so damn luxurious.
