My go-to eye makeup tends to alternate between simple black liner or a smokey eye (usually courtesy of a Naked palette), as I am yet to master the perfect neutral lid… Inspired by Anna on a recent visit to Mecca, I knew it was time to take the plunge and commit to sorting out that in-between eye look that’s proved hard to perfect.
What I picked up was the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Brown Perfection, and this topaz brown cream eyeshadow with satin finish has fast become the ultimate multi-tasker in my collection. The deep brown works perfectly as a smudged-out liner, a buildable wash all over the lid, or even a base for your evening appropriate smokey eye. Heavily pigmented, it’s exactly what I needed from an eye prod. I prefer a light-handed application all over the lid for the day with a smudged line along the upper lash line, for that perfect effortless Carine Roitfeld inspired look.
Thankfully, the cream-based eye shadow doesn’t budge, which means no need for touch-ups during the day or evening antics. Oh, and did I mention I skip the primer with this one – love ! One thing I will mention is that staying power comes at a price ladies, so work quickly as once the prod dries it’s difficult to fix any mishaps.
